Hi Mr. Xu:

How are you doing? I miss you all and all my classmate. I miss the environment where teachers are very nice, knowledgable, and sensitive to students' eagerness for knowledge; I miss the spirit and motivation from my classmate. I appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow under your help.

After graduating from the Database programming program, I have been buried myself with my work and at the same time, I digested what I learned in the program and practice more on database programming, Visual Basic and ASP. I am taking new challenge in the new job at a startup company starting this month with a substantial pay raise. Even though the new job focuses more on software application side, but I am feeling more confident and comfortable now after I graduated from this program.

Thanks you all for all the help!!!

Keep in touch,

May

Dear Instructor Xu:

I would like to express the deep appreciation from all of us in DB2 class for these days you invested in us. I've learned a lot from you. As matter of fact, it was one of the accomplishments that had happened to me not too many times in my life. For this reason, I will always remember where that was coming from.

... ...

Sincerely Yours,

Cynthia

Hi everyone,

As a token of appreciation, let me represent our class by saying "thank you" one more time to our teacher for his efforts and consideration for putting us as his first priority despite his busy schedule.

Take this quiz:

Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

List a few teachers who aided your journey through school
Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier?

The lesson?

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

Cheers,

Mimi
