Question: What is Web Master?
Answer: No one is in charge of the Internet or World Wide Web. In fact, the Internet and the Web are composed of subnetworks and independent domains that have their own points of control, or at least points of monitoring. So when companies, organizations, universities, or government agencies... wish to create a presence on the Internet and Web, they need someone to do it for them. The person (or a group) they need is Web Master. The Web Master role can be that of a manager, channeling appropriate information to the easiest access and categorization methods for internal and external users. Also, the environment of the Web puts the Web Master's combined technical, design, and marketing skills to the test.

Question: What does a Web Master do?
Answer: The Web Master will build and publish Web sites from source code control systems like HTML web coding and develop scripts with Java Script, ASP and/or VB Script. Responsibilities include Web site administration, Web site management, and
verification of Web-content, navigation, links, and scripts, etc. The Web Master will also develop tools to automate the process. And the ability to discuss visual design issues is essential.

Other responsibilities include:

Design/update web content
Manage intranet information
Maintain web server 

Question: What are the prerequisites for taking this program?
Answer: In order to get the best result from this intensive training program is to have some basic knowledge as follow:

Basic knowledge towards Internet and Web, like how to browse and search for useful information on the Web; 
Be familiar with Win'95 or Win'98, know the relationship between Folder and File; Be experienced in Office Applications like Words, Excel... 
Previous programming experience like C, C++, Visual Basic or any other programming language is a plus.

Question: How is the job market doing now for Web Master?
Answer: There is no doubt that Internet and eCommerce are the trend for the next decade. More and more business transactions will be done via Internet; and eCommerce is and will being used in areas other than just on-line shopping. Due to the demand on the development of Web applications, more professionals will be needed to join this field. With the increasing rate of Intranet being used by more and more companies (Intranet is using the same concept as Internet), there will be dedicate positions for Web-related professionals. General speaking, the job market for Web Master is very hot.

Question: What is the most effective learning method?
Answer: Constant practice will help you gain depth understanding of the class contents during short period of time. The more you practice the more questions you will encounter, remember, in the real world the trouble shooting ability is very important. You are strongly suggested to keep up with class scheduled subjects and be well prepared for the class. Hard working will yield fruitful harvest.
