Profile of Dr. Michael Wang

Dr. Michael Wang is the President of I.T. Bridge International which operates I.T. Bridge Training Center in Silicon Valley. I.T. Bridge is dedicated to Bridging Information Technology and People. I.T. Bridge is also committing itself as a bridge between Silicon Valley and the Pacific Rim. Dr. Wang is recently invited to be an Advisor to the Institute for Information Industry (III) in Taiwan. He is also the 1998 President of Chinese Information and Networking Association (CINA) in Silicon Valley, and a board member of the Joint Alumni Association of Chinese Universities and Colleges in Northern California since 1996.

Prior to joining I.T. Bridge, Dr. Michael Wang was with the Institute for Information Industry (III) in Taiwan, where he held the position of Director of Education and Training Division. Before joining the III, Dr. Wang was a professor of the MBA program at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Wang has solid academic as well as industrial backgrounds in strategic application of information technologies, management, and high-tech human resources development.

Dr. Michael Wang received his doctoral degree in MIS from Texas Tech University in 1981. During 1981-1987, he was a professor of the Graduate School of Business at UT-Austin. His areas are in the strategic use of information technology, and the impact of information technology on organizations. In 1987, he returned to Taiwan with his family to take the directorship of Education and Training at the Institute for Information Industry.

At III, Dr. Wang blended his training in management and information technology successfully into the organization to implement many improvements and initiated many new programs. Dr. Wang was also involved in Taiwan's Software Park (軟體工業園區) project to establish a professional service system, including training, consulting, shared computing, and information services.

Due to his outstanding contribution to Taiwan's information industry, Dr. Wang was awarded as a Distinguished Information Professional (傑出資訊人才) in 1991. .He was also a runner-up of the 1992 Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Taiwan, sponsored by the China Junior Chamber International. His academic and research achievements also enlisted him in Who's Who in Technology in 1986, and in International Who's Who of Information Technology. He has also won distinguished paper awards at International Conferences.
